Plaid Cymru’s Gwynedd Leader, Councillor Dyfrig Siencyn said, “We are delighted to welcome the National Eisteddfod to Gwynedd in 2021. This is the first time for the festival to visit the Dwyfor area since 1987, and I’m confident our local communities will ensure it will be a successful Eisteddfod.
“Thousands of people will flock to Gwynedd to compete or enjoy the maes activities during the week. Our aim will be to celebrate Welsh culture and all that makes Gwynedd unique.
“As a Council, we have supported the Eisteddfod in identifying possible sites, and we are pleased that they are announcing that Boduan will be home to the festival in two years’ time. I wish to take the opportunity of thanking the Council’s Property Service for their hard work in collaborating with Eisteddfod staff in fulfilling this important task.
There is a lot of work to be done in the coming months, and we look forward to working with the Eisteddfod as we plan and prepare for our national cultural event between now and August 2021.”
